What is the best thing about working with TLMA?
Just like Jesus, we continue to change the lives of people with leprosy or disability or marginalised through every single action we take at our work. We not only provide artisans with a dignified income but also we help cure, restore and care for people affected by leprosy disability and make a positive impact on the environment through our fundraising activities.

What is the best thing about working with TLMA? It’s great to work with people who are motivated, supportive and enthusiastic about the work of the organisation. They are the people who make stressful, busy days more manageable. In addition, I love the diversity of my job. One day I might be completing paperwork, or meeting with overseas partners but on another day I could be in rural Nepal, seeing how people with leprosy have been helped by our projects.
How has your career grown since joining the TLMA ?
I joined TLMA with no knowledge of the sector. I felt so lost and very unsure of myself at first. However, the team has broaden my understanding of how to help people who live on the margins of society and how we demonstrate God’s love in action. The TLMA family has taught me skills not just needed for my role, but has given me opportunities to understand how other departments and roles in the sector work. They also challenged me to explore and build connections outside of the organisation. In addition, I have grown personally in my thinking and understanding of the issues within our world.
How does TLMA mission drive you?
Being part of a mission that has a clear goal of desiring to defeat leprosy in our life time and knowing that your job helps to bring transformation in the lives of people who have lost hope is not something that everyone has the opportunity to do. For me, knowing that my work can bring change for the better (no matter how small) is very motivating for me.
Who would be best suited to working at TLMA?
Someone who is up for challenges, willing to try new things and has a passion for following Jesus’s example to help those who are the poorest of the poor.

Books

Cake – any type of cake! (also something I feel I can’t live without!)
What is the most interesting country you have been to?
Bhutan – always seems to hold so many mysteries within their high mountains!

Curling up in a comfy chair with a good book and a coffee.
