Gospel House is Sri Lanka’s leading fair trade manufacturer of crafted wooden toys.
Gospel House makes puzzles, blocks, educational games and other toys, using Albizia wood, which is sustainably grown in Sri Lankan tea plantations. Gospel House has over 40 years of experience making toys, and the quality of their product is excellent. They manufacture under fair trade conditions and are members of the World Fair Trade Organisation.
Local Women’s Handicrafts (LWH) is a fair trade textile and handicraft collective in Kathmandu.
LWH focuses on empowering and educating disadvantaged and marginalised women, using sustainable methods. All products are ethically produced, providing fair wages and working conditions for the women who make them. Their social business programs seek to uplift women, their children and their communities.
Local Womens HandicraftsMESH is an Indian organisation that aims to provide opportunities for people affected by leprosy and people with disabilities to achieve social and economic integration through trade. MESH has a shop in New Delhi, and sources products from local producer groups across India, including Blue Mango Trust, Hubli Rehabilitation and Training Unit and Little Flower Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre.
Prokritee Fair Trade is based in Dhaka, but sources products from producer groups throughout Bangladesh. All employees are paid fair wages and ensured good working conditions, as well as training to increased their skills and capacity. Prokritee also practices environmental sustainability, using locally-sourced, recycled and biodegradable materials wherever possible.
Operating since 1994, Niugini Organics produces high quality cold-pressed coconut oil products, and employs around 40 local staff at their production site in East New Britain. Niugini Organics obtains all coconuts using the natural method of wild harvest, which minimises impact on the environment. No plantations are used, and coconuts are gathered when they drop from the trees.
McKean Senior Centre is a holistic care provider for people affected by leprosy, people with disabilities, members of persecuted minorities and elderly people.
McKean provides leprosy treatment and comprehensive rehabilitation services, in both hospital-based and community-based projects. We source a number of products from McKean’s onsite handicrafts workshop, where people affected by leprosy and disability are employed.
Mai Vietnamese Handicrafts is an enterprise that aims to generate income and education for women who are poor or otherwise disadvantaged. The women who work at Mai are provided with employment and training, helping them to become financially independent.
Mai also partners with women producers in rural areas to develop handicraft products and market them both locally and for export.
